Being a Human

Posted on

Being a human is simple for me. Mommy bears a child for 9- month, after that delivers at 10th month. Though we were delivered from the tummy of a mommy, we didn’t have a chance to choose if I wanted to be a girl or a boy. For me, there is nothing different between men and women except the biologically, especially primary and secondary reproductive organs.

For a human born as a woman whose biosocial function will go according to anatomy. Eg. When she grows up, the menstrual cycle will start to happen, puberty hair will start growing. On the other hand, a man’s biological process also functioned accordingly. Eg. His Adam-apple will be bigger than his young age. So, biological functions of men and women are so sincere, they serve their duty.

But, between man and women, the differences of biological characteristic are not stopped by now. The society shape and nurture the different teachings, values and expectations between men and women. No matter whether we like it or not, we have been labeled as stereotyping on being men and women based on the different reproductive organs. The society’s stereotyping words and ideologies are effected on men and women. Let’s do quick analysis the common treatment on men and women.  What do you think, the words, ” strong, bold, leadership, management, ” are they belong to men or women?  Same as consider the following words, ” gentle, kindness and flexible.” What ‘s your answer? The common answer is the first mentioned words are more relate to men and second mentioned words are for women.  Actually, those words are just words themselves. Whatever, in our thinking pattern we figure those words with men and women. This is not accident nor coincidence because we have been programming that thinking pattern along our life-time. When we were young, our parents taught us how girls and boys should behave. After that, we went to school, our teachers treat us differently based on our sexes (reproductive organs). For example, even though both boys and girls are selected for student leaders for a class. Though both boys and girls are leaders, their tasks which were assigned by teachers are different. A Boy- leader was assigned to lead a class while a Girl- leader is assigned to lead girls to work cleaning works and decoration works for class.

Do you think it doesn’t matter? It’s just a normal routine. Let’s deeply think of how society shaped the lives of men and women from house whole level to state level. Men and women are controlled by society; their rights, opportunities, values, duties, hobbies, job opportunities etc… they are not private anymore, the societies’ norms interfere and how men and women should be.

All in all, according to nature, the differences between men and women are biological functions, but in reality, a human with male organ has more leadership skills than a human with a female organ. And a human with a female organ is more patient than a human with male organ. Do you think it’s in line with logical thinking and which has justice?
